Oakmere Cleaning ("we", "us") provides residential and commercial cleaning services across Manchester. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect
We only collect information you give us directly. We do not buy data or track you across other websites.
When you use the booking form
- Your name, email address and phone number
- The address and postcode of the property to be cleaned
- The service, date and time you have asked for
- Property details such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Anything else you choose to write in the additional information box
When you use the contact form
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it
- The subject and content of your message
Automatically
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site secure and working, and are not used to build a profile of you.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a clean. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and afterwards performance of a contract.
- To keep records of work we have carried out. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — running the business and being able to answer questions about past jobs — and legal obligation where tax law requires us to keep records.
- To keep the website secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we will never sell them.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with suppliers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs
- Our email provider, which delivers enquiry emails to us and confirmations to you
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted
- Customer records for completed work: 6 years, to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements
- Web server logs: typically a few weeks, depending on our host's retention
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your data, where we have no ongoing need to keep it
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
- Ask us to transfer it to another provider
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Where your data is held
Your data is stored on servers within the UK or the European Economic Area. If that ever changes we will update this policy and make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.
